Who am I?

I started in this industry at a very young age, working on cars before I was even old enough to drive. I had a real passion for all things mechanical and always wanted to know how stuff worked. I really enjoyed the process of taking things apart and fixing them, whether it was the trucks on a skateboard, crank bearings on a bicycle, or the carburetor on a scooter. I was hooked early on and always enjoyed the process of working with my hands, plus the satisfaction you get from taking something apart and restoring it to its normal function while understanding the inner workings of every component.

By the time I was halfway through high school, I was spending a large portion of my days in the school's amazing auto shop. Living in Michigan at the time, the region really prioritized the automotive industry, thanks to the Big Three manufacturers and their role in the existence of Motor City. By the end of high school, I had already solidified my choice to enter the automotive field. I attended college in New York and completed my degree in Automotive Engineering Technology.

I had already begun working in the industry while in college when my uncle graciously gave me an opportunity at his local service station straight out of high school. There, I started at the bottom, of course, cleaning the garage, pumping gas, driving the tow truck, and studying the many seasoned technicians there. I learned as much as I could and ventured out into the industry after college to work full-time as an auto mechanic (technician).

I worked six days a week, sometimes for 70 or more hours a week, learning the craft and honing my skills. I had a few great mentors early in my career who really pushed me to elevate my skills and helped me learn quickly. It was always my goal to eventually open my own auto repair shop, and by the age of 28, I opened the very first Asian Imports at what seemed like, at the time, the very outskirts of the quiet Las Vegas community of Summerlin. Fast forward 25 years, and we now have three great locations in the Las Vegas and Henderson area, thanks to our incredible clients and our amazing staff who share my vision of what excellent auto service looks like. They are the backbone of Asian Imports Auto!

The success I have found in this industry has been, in large part, due to the many people in my life who have shared my vision, lent their assistance along the way, and supported the business in many ways. Thanks to all of you! Now, I have shifted my focus a bit to include the next logical step for me: sharing the information I have. I am nearing the end of my career and want to assist people with all facets of the automotive industry, from car maintenance to auto shop entrepreneurship and all things in between.
